Yi-Ming's passion for tea manufacturing and tasting became evident as he navigated through the complexities of the Taiwanese tea industry.
His return to the family plantation marked a pivotal moment where he was entrusted with the responsibility of processing tea leaves independently. Despite initial setbacks and failures, Yi-Ming recognized the invaluable lessons embedded within those experiences, underscoring the importance of learning through trial and error.
During his journey, Yi-Ming received profound wisdom from a master tea maker regarding the significance of aroma in tea appreciation. He learned that while aroma may captivate initially, it is the delicate balance of mildness, sweetness, and smoothness that defines exceptional tea. This revelation led him to embrace a philosophy centered on purity and simplicity in tea enjoyment, a sentiment reflective of his personal taste preferences.
As Yi-Ming delved deeper into the art of tea making, he underwent a transformative shift from being aroma-focused to prioritizing the nuanced taste of the tea soup. Recognizing the critical role of tasting in tea production, he emphasized the necessity of mastering the art of tea drinking before embarking on tea manufacturing.
The unique geographical attributes of Lu-Ye tea, characterized by abundant sunlight and high polyphenol content, contribute to its distinctive honey-like flavor, ideal for complete oxidation and fermentation at high altitudes. With advancements in tea-making techniques, Yi-Ming witnessed the seamless integration of Oolong and black tea, resulting in a harmonious fusion of flavors that enrich the tea-drinking experience.
In essence, Yi-Ming's journey epitomizes a profound exploration of the multifaceted world of tea, driven by a relentless pursuit of perfection and a deep reverence for tradition. Through dedication, perseverance, and an unwavering commitment to quality, Yi-Ming continues to shape the landscape of Taiwanese tea production.
