  • More about Woody Red

The cultivar of Woody Red is Hong Yu (TTES. No.18), which is a unique black tea variety in Taiwan, developed by the Tea Research and Extension Station of the Council of Agriculture, Executive Yuan, using "Taiwan Wild Tea" as the father plant and "Burma Big Leaf Tea" as the mother plant. After more than 50 years of experimentation, it was successfully bred in 1999 and named "TTES. No. 18". With its extraordinary and superior taste, it has completely captivated the taste buds of black tea experts around the world.

Woody Red is a fully oxidized tea, hand-picked without being cut into pieces, with the leaves in a strip-like shape. The tea liquor is bright and vibrant red, with a unique combination of cinnamon and mint flavors. Due to long-term storage, it also develops a woody warm, and mellow aroma, with a delicate, mellow, rich, and sweet taste, lingering in your mouth after drinking.
