I really enjoyed the Analytical tasting workshop. The atmosphere was relaxed, yet I learned a lot about Taiwanese tea. There were six different teas to taste, and the most interesting part was the host's guidance in observing, smelling, and tasting the tea leaves, understanding how the tea variety and production process influence its taste. I also make friends who are interested in tea and food tasting!

A few days ago I joined a tasting hosted by 雅軒 (Lucy) at DOT Tea Bar in Berlin — and it was a lovely surprise. 雅軒’s tea line-up is broad enough to speak to many palates, yet it hit a very sweet spot for me: it showed the artisanal qualities I’ve come to prize in Taiwanese teas — and in good tea full stop. Those qualities are, sadly, ever rarer in a tea world drifting toward mechanisation and standardisation, often at the expense of complexity, and serendipitous unpredictability. And perhaps, also at the expense of that “flavourless flavour” (無味之味) that experienced "tea people" invoke when words fall short — the almost intangible “tea rhyme” (茶韻) in its most subtle sense: a felt beauty that nudges deeper understanding.

My top pick of the session was “Deep Forest”: a properly charcoal-roasted hóngshuǐ wūlóng (炭焙紅水烏龍) — a high-oxidation, dark-roast wūlóng with a caramelly, fruit-forward profile that I find wonderfully soothing in autumn and winter. Aromas were fully balanced by a thick, complex range of tactile sensations: palate presence, a gentle oiliness, and a creamy glide.

Highly recommended tea shop.

I highly recommend Lucy's workshops and teas!!! I learned a lot of new facts about Taiwanese tea and tea culture while tasting exquisite tea. My favourite tea from my recent workshop was the 'Deep Forest' tea. Definitely recommend that one! Lucy is very kind and open to questions during the workshops! I'm looking forward to the next workshop and to try more of her teas :)

I attended a tea workshop with Lucy and it was amazing. I learned a lot about Taiwanese oolong: processing, brewing, types, and the importance of roasting. Also, we tested many incredible teas. Highly recommended!

The workshop in Hamburg with Lucy was truly inspiring. She shared a deep insight into Taiwanese tea culture and introduced us to outstanding Oolong teas. I was impressed by their depth and complexity. On top of that, Lucy is an exceptionally kind and warm person. A remarkable experience- highly recommend.
